Purpose of the role:
- Ensure customer satisfaction in service provisioning (transmission, routers, switches) and quality of service.
- Manage all monitoring aspects of network deployments.
- Coordinate all post-sales matters triggered by both internal and external customers.
- Drive continuous improvement in services offered.
- Supervise and oversee engineering operations and functionality.
- Conduct POC testing for network equipment.
- Develop strategies and manage risks for network operations.
Major Responsibilities:
- Plan, project manage, and implement network engineering projects.
- Install and configure DWDM, switches, routers, and firewalls within core and access networks.
- Proactively monitor core production network infrastructure and support systems to ensure continuous service delivery and optimal network performance.
- Propose operational improvements to management involving workflow optimization.
- Create and maintain detailed engineering documentation for proper operations.
- Ensure operational processes and procedures are ITSM compliant.
- Ensure smooth internal workflows and proper escalation procedures.
- Manage the lifecycle of existing network equipment, including capacity planning, network improvement, preventive maintenance, migration, and decommissioning.
- Follow change request processes to ensure high customer service uptime.
- Draft and prepare Incident and Outage Reports in a timely manner.
- Submit all reports, such as Monthly Reports, RFOs, and Incident Reports, promptly.
- Provide full support to NOC & engineers and ensure engineering meets all deliverables and SLA targets.
- Manage IP addresses (IPv4 & IPv6).
- Support Product & Sales workgroups on all new network planning.
Competency/ Technical Skills Required
- Bachelor's Degree (Computer Science, Information Systems) or equivalent applicable experience required.
- Minimum 5 years working experience in related field
- Strong analytical skills and has a flair for dealing with technical and operational problems.
- Good interpersonal skills and fluent in communication.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Enthusiasm and drive to creatively evolve the network using unconventional methods.
- Possess experience in ISP environment will be an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as within teams required.
- Ability to work off working hour whenever necessary.
- Formal IT qualification Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) is a must. Candidate with CCNP/CCDP is highly preferred
