Responsibilities
Handle operations/technical peering and edge matters with ISPs, partners and clients.
Troubleshoot issues in adherence to SLAs.
Assist with maintenance, repairs, and upgrade tasks as needed while limiting impact to the production network.
Work with carriers and network provisioning engineers to turn up circuits and engage/escalate with vendors to troubleshoot out-of-service or faulty circuits as needed.
Perform detailed troubleshooting remotely and engage/manage vendors/partners/smarthands as needed to fix issues at the data center and POP sites.
Use internal tools and scripts to configure, monitor, and repair network circuits and equipment.
Strictly follow established procedures while draining/undraining any circuit bundles and clusters.
Perform end-to-end checks after circuit(s) are/is repaired or provisioned.
Remotely manage (safekeep) assets and networking gear remotely in data center and POP sites.
Document and follow RMA processes and procedures for all relevant vendors.
Work closely with Network Engineering, Logistics, and equipment vendors as new equipment and technologies are integrated into the production network.
Follow, improve, and implement data center and POP best practices.
Proactively contribute to documentation, automation, and processes as they evolve.
On-call rotation/operational duties and ticket/case ownership. To participate/deliver daily handover and report any operational discrepancies to Team Lead.
Collaboration with global PM to update processes and training materials.
Mentoring new engineers through onboarding cycle(s).
Operational readiness to backup to Team Lead when needed.
Skills, Qualifications & Requirements
Experience in NoC and Support environments.
Experience in handling data centers, CDNs, ISPs, telcos, smart hands and/or 3rd party partners.
Good communications skills in managing both internal and external parties.
Good device CLI and Linux OS skills including (but not limited to) ssh, telnet, ftp, etc.
Skillful in two OEM vendors such as Cisco, Juniper and/or Arista.
Experience with systems and processes in a global networking and cluster environment including BGP.
Situation awareness of collaborating with partners in a region (different countries.)
Bachelor's degree (B.S/B.A) in a field with 5+ years related telecom experience, or 7+ years related telecom experience.
Good to Have
Ability to innovate, adapt and implement new tools or processes per business needs.
Experience in software system design/architecture skills (DevOps.)
