Network Service Engineer II
Job Summary
Responsible for: Network Planning and Implementation, troubleshooting and fault resolution of reported and detected faults, performing effective maintenance to the equipment to prevent faults from occurring, procurement and installation of equipment for expansion and new services.
Responsibilities
Responsible for managing cloud infrastructure life cycle activities, including deployment, software and capacity upgrading, decommissioning
Responsible for managing infrastructure incident case, service restoration and internal/external customer escalation
Responsible for managing infrastructure change activity including software, hardware and capacity upgrade
Responsible for continuously improvement plan and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver the result
Responsible for maintaining documentation in all kind of performed activities according to the process
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree + 2 years of relevant work experience. Candidate with public cloud building & operations experience is preferred or Master's with relevant project work
Key Skills
Fluency both written and spoken in English
Excellent collaborator with good communication skills
Quick learner with a strong passion for knowledge, curiosity, and ambition
Familiar on ITIL best practices, such as change management, incident management and problem management
Familiar with the retrospective or COE (correction of error) process to work on an improvement plan and deliver the result
Proficient in Agile methodology for workflow management. Result-driven and process-oriented
Must have hands-on experience in setting up and troubleshooting connectivity issues in a complex cloud environment, including standalone/cluster/SDWAN setup, physical/virtual network appliances, cloud service providers
Example of virtual network appliances (e.g. Virtual Network Function / VNF and Cloud-Native Network Function / CNF): VPP, Palo Alto Networks VM-Series Firewall, Cisco Catalyst 8000V, Fortinet Virtual Firewall, Cisco Adaptive Security Virtual Appliance (ASAv), Cisco Threat Defense Virtual (FTDv), F5 NGINX Plus Load Balancer, Juniper vSRX Virtual Firewall, VyOS Universal Router, Aviatrix Edge cloud networking, Arista CloudEOS, Check Point CloudGuard Firewall
Example of cloud service providers: Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, AWS, and other similar providers
Example of physical network appliances: Juniper MX routers, Nokia SR routers, Cisco Nexus routers and Arista routers
Example of SDWAN solution include Cisco CSR 8000V SDWAN, Fortinet Fortigate Secure, Juniper vSRX, Palo Alto Networks Prisma, VERSA FlexVNF, VMWare SDWAN, Aruba Network EdgeConnect, and other similar SDWAN
Must have hands-on experience in setting up and troubleshooting issues related to common cloud technologies and network protocols
Example of cloud technologies: Kubernetes, Openstack, Containerization and similar cloud technologies
Example of network protocols: TCP/IP, Routing & Switching, VxLAN, EVPN, BGP, MPLS, ISIS, L2VPN, L3VPN and similar data center networking protocols
Having a certification in Networking, Kubernetes, Mirantis, or RedHat is considered as an advantage
Having experience in CI/CD workflow and developing automation scripts that interface with various APIs from CSPs (Cloud Service Providers) and network equipment is considered as an advantage
Able to proficiently process well-written and well-structured documents using Microsoft Office Word, SharePoint, and Excel, as well as Confluence, Slack, Jira, diagram automation/drawing tools, and similar software is considered as an advantage
Familiar with Equinix Digital Services platform products, such as Network Edge, Equinix Fabric, and Equinix Internet Access, is considered as an advantage
