DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To provide nursing care and management according to patients needs.
2. To demonstrate an emphatic and caring approach to patient and relatives.
3. To assess patient's health status.
4. To check and record patient's vital signs including pulse, respiration, blood pressure, allergies and pain scale.
5. To respond to emergencies promptly as required. To teach non clinical staff on how to respond to emergencies.
6. To communicate effectively with team members. To assist in transfer and referrals of patients as needed.
7. To assist doctor in physical examination and diagnostic procedures for the patients.
8. To perform and assist doctor in extraction of blood from the patients and to assist on laboratory test related procedures.
9. To follow up on investigation results and reports of patients. To conduct filling on related document as necessary for proper patient record management.
10. To assist administer medications via intra-muscular, intra- venous and subcutaneous route as per doctor's order and scope of nursing practice.
11. To assist to perform cannulation for IV therapy as ordered and maintain IV infusion according to policy.
12. To assist on administer of vaccines as per immunization schedule and as required and ordered by doctor. To maintain accurate vaccination record as per policy.
13. To replenish drugs and medical supplies in the dispensary on daily basis.
14. To conduct medications dispensing.
15. To follow with infection control practices according to clinic established standards on infection control. Clean and sterilize instruments, dispose clinical waste and sharps appropriately.
16. To check expiry date, monitor stock level, record medical stocks and supplies, order stock and conduct stock take regularly.
17. To make sure all medical equipment in the clinic are functional.
18. To follow clinic policies and procedures to guide nursing practice and maintain professional expertise.
19. To assist on patients follow up, monitoring, screening and immunization.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Bachelor Degree/Diploma/Certificate in Nursing
2. Minimum of two years experience as a Staff Nurse in medical-surgical nursing.
3. Competency in administration of immunization
4. Knowledge of acts or legislation that govern practice
5. Competency in information technology and computer skills.
6. Singaporean or PR
