An Oncology Staff Nurse plays a critical role in the care and treatment of patients diagnosed with cancer.
JD:
- Collaboration: Work closely with oncologists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients. Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to discuss patient progress and adjust treatment strategies as needed.
- Treatment Administration: Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other cancer treatments as prescribed by oncologists. Monitor patients during treatment for any adverse reactions and provide appropriate interventions.
- Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of patients physical and emotional health, including vital signs, symptoms, and reactions to treatments. Monitor patients for any changes in condition and report to the medical team.
