Role Summary
The Operating Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the business to ensure the smooth and efficient running of all departments. This role involves managing staff, ensuring high levels of customer service, maintaining operational standards, and overseeing financial performance. The Operating Manager will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, managing inventory and supplies, and driving marketing and promotional efforts to optimize operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Staff Management:
- Provide leadership and support to ensure staff productivity and morale.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback for employee growth and development.
2. Customer Service:
- Ensure excellent customer service standards are met consistently.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and implement strategies for improvement.
3. Quality Control:
- Develop and enforce quality control procedures to ensure products and services meet company standards.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement.
4. Financial Management:
- Oversee budgets, financial reporting, and profitability analysis.
- Monitor and manage operational costs and expenses.
- Ensure adherence to financial targets and business performance goals.
5. Inventory and Supplies Management:
- Ensure adequate inventory levels are maintained, avoiding overstocking or stockouts.
- Monitor inventory turnover rates and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly.
6. Health and Safety Compliance:
- Ensure all operational activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions.
7. Marketing and Promotion:
- Monitor the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and adjust as needed.
- Develop community outreach and customer engagement strategies to increase brand visibility.
- Track customer trends and feedback to help shape future marketing initiatives.
8. Operational Efficiency:
- Streamline processes to improve operational workflow and reduce inefficiencies.
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for operational success.
- Identify and recommend areas for operational improvements and innovation.
Requirements
1. Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience (2-5 years) in operations management, preferably in a similar industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
