Role Overview:
The Operation Planner cum Manager is responsible for ensuring seamless logistics operations, from transportation planning and warehouse coordination to client satisfaction and operational efficiency. This dual role combines strategic planning with hands-on management of the activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Logistics Planning:Design efficient routes and schedules for transportation to minimize costs and delivery times.
Forecast and manage demand for shipments, aligning with client requirements.
Optimize resource allocation (vehicles, drivers, warehouse staff).
- Operations Oversight:Monitor the movement of goods to ensure timely deliveries.
Address operational bottlenecks and troubleshoot issues such as delays or damaged shipments.
Maintain inventory levels and warehouse organization to ensure smooth dispatch and receipt of goods.
- Team Leadership:Supervise drivers, warehouse staff, and other operational employees.
Conduct training on operational standards, safety protocols, and customer service.
- Client Coordination:Act as the point of contact for key clients to understand their logistics needs.
Ensure high levels of service satisfaction by resolving complaints and providing real-time updates.
- Data Analysis & Reporting:Track logistics KPIs (e.g., delivery time, cost per delivery, vehicle utilization rates).
Use data to identify inefficiencies and propose process improvements.
Prepare and present operational reports to senior management.
- Technology Integration:Leverage logistics management systems (LMS) for tracking shipments and optimizing operations.
Stay updated on technology trends (e.g., GPS tracking, automation) to enhance QuickMove's capabilities.
- Compliance & Risk Management:Ensure adherence to local and international logistics regulations.
Mitigate risks related to transportation, storage, and delivery.
- Cost Optimization:Control budgets for fuel, maintenance, and labor.
Negotiate contracts with suppliers and transport providers to secure favorable terms.
