Job Description
Summary
The intern will be assigned to the Claims Team in BW LPG Holding Pte Ltd. He/she will have the opportunity to understand the importance of a post-fixture team in a shipping organisation. A post-fixture team is more than just an administrative task and is crucial for the organisation as it deals with the companys revenue. He/she could play a part in the day-to-day operations and be given real responsibility during the time of internship.
Responsibilities
Responsible for calculating and invoicing freight and/or time charter hire, demurrage & other claims associated with vessel employment.
All claims/revenues are raised as per CP within the time-barred period
Issue and collection of freight when vessel completed discharge
Calculating and issue of demurrage after vessel completed discharge
Verification and raise miscellaneous claims in accordance with CP terms
Raise external TC Hire In / Out and Charterers item
Raise external Hire Invoices and process TC invoices in vessels
Proactively pursue Charterers for all settlement of earnings
Maintain and collate data and records of all claims and collections proceeds inside the companys approved system.
Report on freight / hire / demurrage and miscellaneous claims status as required.
Support the department in enhancing interdepartmental processes to ensure streamlined procedures.
Responsible in processing brokerage commission and commercial fees payments in IMOS and Oracle.
Collaborate effectively with Chartering, Operations, Finance, Insurance, and any other department necessary to process claims in an effective manner.
