We are seeking a proactive and experienced Operations Manager to lead the China Department operations. This role involves overseeing the full scope of travel arrangements, managing relationships with suppliers and ensuring operational efficiency in the department. You will work closely with product planners, airlines, land operators and other key partners to deliver exceptional service for our China-based operations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the issuance of air tickets, coordination with land operators, and direct bookings of hotels, restaurants, and attractions.
- Ensure adherence to deadlines for deposits, full payments, ticket issuance and promotional activities.
- Collaborate with product planners to monitor costing closely, including profit & loss and land & ticket costing for China-specific products.
- Supervise and guide the Operations Executive team in updating the OB system, ensuring smooth facilitation of counter staff operations for sales and follow-ups.
- Resolve operational issues swiftly and maintain strong, professional relationships with airlines, overseas suppliers, and other travel partners.
- Coordinate travel arrangements for group tours, liaising with airlines, overseas land operators and transportation providers.
- Supervise and support the reservation and ticketing operations, including tours, hotels, and air travel, ensuring smooth travel coordination for China tours.
- Assist with pre-departure and post-departure requirements, ensuring all travel details are addressed and clients are fully supported.
- Lead and oversee participation in travel fairs, roadshows, and promotional events.
- Provide operational support for the team, ensuring the highest standards of service and efficiency.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a travel agency as an Operations Manager or in a similar operational capacity.
- Proven ability to work independently and lead a team effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills, with the ability to handle multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with Amadeus (GDS) and other booking systems.
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Chinese (written and spoken).
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
