OPHTHALMIC TECHNICIAN
The ophthalmic technician performs various eye investigations essential to the diagnosis and treatment of eye conditions.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
CLINICAL CARE
Ophthalmic Investigations
Humphrey Visual Field (HVF)
Photography and document the ocular structures in optical images
Cirrus OCT
Spectralis OCT (SPOCT)
Ophthalmic technician sub-specialty investigations includes either and/or :
Anterior Segment assessment
AL-Scan
OPD Scan
Endothelial Cell Count (ECC)
Refractive Surgery assessment
Corneal Topography (Orbscan and Galilei)
Optical Abberation (HOA) (Zywave)
Cornea Central Thickness (CCT) (Ultrasound Pachymetry)
- SAFE CARE
Maintain zero harm to patient
Practice due diligence during all patient interactions to ensure safety of the patient at all times.
Undertake corrective actions immediately and consistently when feedback given.
- RESEARCH & QUALITY
May assist in department projects.
- GENERAL & AD-HOC DUTIES
Actively involved in hospital and departments initiatives e.g. eye screening events
Any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Diploma in any discipline
Preferred with IT related/ Engineering/ Biochemical
Training
On job training will be provided
