Role description:
We are seeking an experienced Outside Plant Project Engineer to join our team. The Engineer will be responsible to manage and support regional outside plant projects and diversions.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee projects in Singapore and regionally, as required.
- Manage contractors carrying out project installation work.
- Produce relevant reports for the Manager/Client on all projects.
- Undertake pre-consultation and site surveys for all new builds, if required.
- Obtain client and authority approvals for all proposals.
- Produce a project plan and coordinate installations with relevant contractors to meet completion dates set by the Project Manager.
- Ensure that, before construction, contractors have completed a risk assessment report and understand the associated risks and mitigation measures.
- Plan all OSP construction work according to the program and report to the OSP Manager if any projects are off-target.
- Organize regular inspections to verify that all site work is being completed safely and correctly according to authority and client requirements.
- Ensure full compliance with Workplace Health and Safety regulations and procedures (per MoM guidelines).
- Verify that contractors work quality meets statutory requirements, building regulations, and client specifications (Singapore Standards where applicable).
- Coordinate and monitor any remedial work necessary to gain client and local authority acceptance.
- Maintain a daily log detailing work performed and any issues encountered.
- Assign tasks to the CAD engineer for project drawings and handover packages.
- Compile handover packages and obtain approval from the Manager/client.
- Identify and report new business opportunities for RED Technologies to management.
- Undertake any additional tasks as requested by the Manager.
Requirements/Experience:
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office (Windows, Word, Excel, etc.).
- Strong understanding of optical fiber networking and communications principles.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Higher Nitec in Information Technology preferred.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Supervise Construction Work for WSH (BCSS/SCW) qualification preferred.
- Outside/inside plant experience preferred.
- Confined space operation certification is preferred.
Others:
- Working hours from Monday through Friday 8:30am to 6:00pm.
- Ability to provide support during and outside regular business hours and weekends is required
