CCA may be run on selected Mondays and/or Saturdays if school deemed there is a need for additional/intensive trainings in the 1 month leading to competition/concert/school events and during competition/concert/school events.
Scope:
Target Group: Sec 1 to 5 Students
Estimated total no of students: 25 to 27
To design and plan an appropriate 30-week student development/ training programme in consultation with the teachers-in-charge.
To work with the teachers-in-charge to develop students passion in Angklung and Kulintang and inculcate good values in them.
Expose students to a wide variety of songs (e.g. traditional and contemporary, etc) played by the Angklung and Kulintang.
To train and prepare members for SYF, Combined Concert or public concerts.
To provide individual assessment and feedback to students for improvement.
To carry out auditions for the CCA selection process of all Sec 1 students at the beginning of the year.
To accompany the students out for performances and competitions (estimated number of times: 3 locally).
To be able to provide/ choreograph/ arrange about 3 performances a year for school related events such as school Hari Raya Concert, National Day Celebrations and School Open House and be present to guide students in preparations for these performances.
To be able to provide/ arrange for enrichment opportunities for students to perform at the public performances such as National Day Carnival, PAssionArts Festival, etc. and/or watch related cultural performances to enrich students knowledge and experience.
To be responsible for the safety and welfare of the students while conducting coaching and shall not involve the students in activities outside the school without prior approval from the school.
To link with other schools/ organisations and provide platforms for student exchange and enrichment in terms of music exchange or otherwise. The exchange sessions are as part of the total training hours under annual baseload.
Requirement:
Must be registered with MOE
Formal Education in Music or Composition
Cultural Certification and Training (basic or advanced certification from recognized cultural institutions specializing in traditional Southeast Asian music).
