Part Time Instructor for Drama Club

Deployment:

1. Base Contract Period: 1 Jan 2024 to 31 Dec 2024
2. Training Days: Every Tuesday and Thursday - 3.30 pm to 6 pm

• Excluding public holidays, school holidays and CCA stand down period for exams.
• The School may request for additional training session(s) for key milestone events.

Scope of Works:

• Estimated Total Hours per year: 152.5 hrs (25 sessions x2.5 hrs) + (90 hrs rehersals)

1. To deliver lessons as scheduled which allow students to have fun and enjoy developing their acting skills as well as have the opportunity to conceptualise, rehearse and block short pieces on their own in small groups.

2. To work with teacher producer(s) to plan, block, direct, rehearse, teach and run one full length theatre production of 2-3 hours runtime per year, including working with teacher producer(s) on sets, props, costumes, lighting and sound. The performance should be of a published script (or double bill of published scripts) at a suitable level for Secondary students, e.g. Shakespeare in the original language, youth theatre pieces of an appropriate level with adequate literary and dramatic content.

To direct, advise and otherwise support the delivery of other activities of the club from time to time such as the production of short original films, the delivery of VIA performances and workshops, a short piece for the Performing Art Night Festival.

Requirement:

1. All instructors must be registered with MOE as CCA performing Arts (Drama) or AMIS
2. Degree in Theater Studies
3. Other Professional Qualifications or certifications in either

• Drama/Speech and Drama or Musical Theatre performance or both
• extensive experience coaching or teaching drama or both.
