UWCSEA Dover has a vacancy for a Part-Time Teacher of Vietnamese for our Home Languages Programme (HLP).
The Home Languages Programme is for students who want to maintain a language spoken at home but who do not study this language as part of the academic curriculum during the school day at appropriate level. This programme offers students the opportunity to gain cultural understanding of the language, as well as improve their linguistic skills to gain a ge appropriate fluency in their home language.
The students a ges are from 4 to 16 y ears o ld. Classes are taught in small groups of 3 to 6 students of similar a ges and linguistic levels and will take place after school (or at lunchtime for some younger students).
Plan, prepare and teach classes as required.
- Exhibit good classroom management skills.
Use digital resources to enhance students learning.- Provide samples of students learning in the school online learning platform for parents to follow students progress.
Provide feedback to parents
- Collaborate with the other teachers of the Vietnamese Language Department in developing a Vietnamese Language Curriculum.
Applicants must be degree holders with language teaching experience. Candidates without teaching qualifications but possess experience teaching a ge groups from 4 to 16 y ears o ld with appropriate resources are encouraged to apply.
- Candidates must have the ability to teach Vietnamese to students who speak Vietnamese as their home language or are Heritage speakers of Vietnamese.
