Reporting to the Assistant Director of Nursing & Daycare Manager, you are responsible for the maintenance of a clean, orderly, and safe environment and the performance of patient care under the supervision of the Registered / Enrolled Nurse.
Responsibilities:
- Keep active measures to ensure the safety of patients under supervision of the Registered Nurse as required.
- Actively attend to the patients self-care needs including elimination, nail and oral hygiene maintenance.
- Assist with mobility needs of patients as well as transfer and mobilise the patient as required.
- Assist as van escort helping patients to and fro from the Hospice.
- Measure and record patient's weight, temperature and blood pressure as required.
- Look after the patient's dietary and feeding requirements, including taking meal order, serving meal and drinks, as well as assist with the feeding of patient if patient unable to do so.
- Be responsible for food pantry including the safe storing of food items, checking on stock level and ensuring the quality of food for safe consumption.
- Upholds standards in infection control by means of standard precautions, hand hygiene, proper waste disposal and isolation practices.
- Assist with administrative duties such as data entry and filing of documents etc.
- Assist with filing of documents.
- Report occurrences and patient observations to the Registered Nurse promptly.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace organisation at all times.
- Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and discretion in matters involving patient care.
- Maintain a conducive and safe patient care environment.
- Undertake to keep oneself well informed of the updated industry guidelines and develop new skills that are necessary for the job.
- Perform any other duties as and when assigned by the Assistant Director of Nursing, Registered Nurse, or Day Care Manager.
Requirements:
- At least possess a GCE N Level or Certificate in Health Care Assistant or equivalent
- At least 2 years of working experience as a Patient Care Assistant.
- Passion to serve.
- Processes strong sense of responsibility for safety, patient, considerate and courteous towards patients
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
