Challenges
The Exercise Physiologist will be supporting Sports Medicine services under the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. He/she will assist the Sports Physician in the application of physical activity and behavioural interventions where they have been scientifically proven to provide therapeutic or functional benefit. He/she will help develop exercise testing and prescription programmes for healthy and clinical populations, as well as individuals with controlled disease. He/she will also help conduct audits to track the outcomes of these programmes.
He/She would be involved in continuing medical association programmes for clinical staff and trainees, as well as the public. He/she would also be required to undergo further training, including attachments to other sports medicine and sports science institutes.
Requirements
A good university degree in related science discipline, e.g. Sports Science, Human Movement, Kinesiology.
Preferably with 3 years working experience as an Exercise Physiologist in a clinical setting.
Working experience with national athletes and/or dancers or dance experience is an added advantage.
