The Physiotherapist helps patient restore mobility, function and independence through detailed assessment of problems and individualized treatment. Physiotherapists manage a wide range of conditions, with expertise in mobilization techniques and manual therapy, exercise prescription, electrotherapy, balance and gait training and education on health promoting strategies. The Physiotherapist works within the context of a multidisciplinary team.
A Physiotherapist demonstrates a high standard of clinical practice and professional conduct in all areas of patient care, and proactively participate in continuous professional development and evidence-based practice.
(A) MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. CLINICAL DUTIES
Depending on the coverage areas, locum physiotherapist should be competent in managing the following conditions:
He/she should be independent in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of patient within defined scope of practice. He/she should have an understanding of the limits of their expertise and seek guidance proactively when appropriate.
2. Administrative duties
The locum physiotherapist must have skills and competency in self management, and compliance to medicolegal and governance guidelines
