Technical Responsibilities
- Delivers pipe stress (static and dynamic) and other miscellaneous calculations efficiently and effectively manages multiple tasks independently and in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Utilises CAESAR II software as well as company proprietary Microsoft Excel spreadsheets as required. Conversant with relevant International Codes of Practice as well as engineering and industry standards
- Prepare pipe support loads and conceptual special pipe support design for detailed design
- Perform visual check and calculate piping load for non-critical lines.
- Provide guidance to piping designers or drafting team and verify that Piping requirements are reflected in the design. Ensure output is completed on time, on budget, and exceeding quality standards.
- Assists in preparation of datasheets for spring hangers, expansion bellows and other specialty piping items.
- Prepare pipe stress analysis report for submission and resolve client comments related to pipe stress from time to time
- Adheres to and complies with engineering procedures and standards and provides constructive feedback for continuous improvement. Identifies potential applications for new processes and technologies to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Ensures effective communication and interface between all disciplines for design and development
- Participates in internal audits and investigations as required.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent engineering specialisation from an accredited university.
- 5+ years of piping engineering related working experience or similar activities pertaining to pipe stress analysis as described above.
- AutoCAD, Caesar II & Navisworks familiarity
- Knowledge on sizing spring hangers.
- Strong understanding of ASME and European Codes
- Excellent technical communication (oral and written) skills with proven ability to present technical issues to design teams and project engineering teams.
- Self-starter and be able to work with minimal supervision, make sound decisions, take independent action, analyse problems, and provide focused solutions to assigned projects.
- Possess strong inter-personal and communication skills and be able to work well with people at all levels
- Preferably to have pipe stress experience on high temperature or steam piping
