Assist Piping Lead Engineer and execute the tasks assigned by Lead Engineer with no or minimum supervision.
Lead a group of piping engineers and designers to execute the tasks assigned by Lead Engineer or/and monitor the work executed by engineering design house where applicable.
Review and monitor engineering design progress related to piping work scopes.
Prepare and raise technical query (TQF) and engineering variation order (EVO) related to piping for additional work scopes.
Align the piping design output (such as piping isometric drawing, pipe spool drawing, etc) with construction team to ensure all the information required by construction teams are incorporated.
Understand department and project specific design workflow.
Understand Contract Specification and project requirement summary.
Understand Class and Regulatory Requirement, Piping, Special Item and Valve Material Specification.
Understand P&ID and piping routine requirements.
Understand equipment layout plan (include escape route, maintenance space, mechanical handling, other equipment).
Understand non-piping design related requirements such as fabrication, erection, painting, QA/QC, testing and commissioning.
Responsible for ensuring that all works meet scope and technical quality of the project and comply with project requirements.
Monitor P&ID revisions and ensure the compliance between piping 3D model with latest P&ID.
Monitor design input need date and data required to execute the piping design works.
Monitor 3D model clash and design review comments / punch lists.
Monitor the comments from Client and Classification Society.
Monitor all the piping related interface points.
Monitor all the hotwork, tank's coating and drydocking related activities where applicable.
Monitor piping procurement status and surplus material due to drawing revision.
Monitor all the hold items that affecting piping design completeness.
Monitor and control the development of piping weight.
Ensure proper communication and workflow are well established between piping stress team with pipe routine and pipe support designer team. Closely monitor the compliance between piping 3D model with the latest pipe stress analysis report.
Review/comments piping arrangement, isometric and pipe supports drawings from piping designers.
Review/comments on piping calculations carry out by other piping engineers/ subcontractors (e.g. pipe stress analysis report, flow master report, surge analysis report).
Review/comments technical proposal from vendor.
Review/comments vendor certified Document (VCD).
Monitor and control drawing revisions especially when construction already started.
Ensure proper communication and workflow are well established between piping designing team with construction team. Monitor the compliance between piping construction drawing (piping isometric and pipe support drawing) with the latest 3D model.
Monitor the piping design database completeness (such as 3D model attributes, etc) to meet the project Digital Engineering requirements.
Interface with vendor, other discipline lead, procurement, production, commissioning.
Onboard vessel to carry out inspection at site.
Provide support to piping construction, QA/QC and other non-engineering design related activities such as inspection, coating, painting, welding, test packages, etc.
Requirements:
Prefer to have at least 5 years of piping engineering related working experience or similar activities as describe above.
Min. Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Prefer to have experience in Offshore/Shipyard project, Rig building/Ship building.
Prefer to have experience in FPSO project, both topsides & marine.
Good knowledge in Piping Design.
Good knowledge in International Standards related to Piping such as ASME, ASTM, API and Classification Society Rules and Regulations.
Good skill in Excel is preferred.
Experience in using AutoCAD, Naviswork, Smart Plant, Aveva, Cadmatic, etc. is preferred.
