Port Captain (Shipping)

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct internal audits and safety inspections onboard vessels as required.
• Liaise with government bodies to ensure smooth vessel operations and efficient turnaround in port-related matters.
• Supervise cargo operations to meet agent requirements.
• Assist the Safety Committee in addressing company safety matters and implementing HQ safety protocols.
• Organize monthly safety meetings and prepare reports.
• Support the Head of Department in implementing departmental SOPs diligently.
• Perform ad hoc tasks as assigned by the Head of Department.

Job Requirements:

• Master Mariner with Class 1 Certificate of Competency (COC).
• Experience with tankers preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant shore/base experience.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Willingness to work extended hours and during holidays.
