We are looking to hire a Ports and Harbours Manager to join our team of experts in a dynamic and growing company that is driving the energy transition.
This role will be open to base in countries within the APAC region: Singapore/Australia/ Indonesia/ Malaysia/Thailand.
What you will be doing.
As our Ports and Harbours Manager, you will be responsible for growing the business and the team in APAC while simultaneously assisting with the delivery of the projects. Develop and plan the business to drive primarily Ports and Harbours (P&H) consultancy, but also assist with P&I and legal areas of ABL business in the region when needed
Be proactive, roll up your sleeves and get involved with daily work.
To familiarise with all aspects of all ABL services and key deliverables.
Lead and drive P&H growth in APAC as well as collaborate with other disciplines to identify cross-selling opportunities for wider Group businesses.
Retain and develop existing and potential clients.
Develop new business initiatives and take part in the preparation of technical and commercial proposals.
Represent ABL Group through the delivery of presentations and involvement at regional market-facing events.
Provide desktop and on-site marine consultancy services related to P&H matters.
Support other areas of the business as appropriate and relevant to your skills, experience, and expertise. These may include hull and machinery damage surveys, P&I condition and pre-entry surveys, expert witnesses, desktop works and other survey activities as and when required.
Contribute to improve work processes and ensure delivery of high-quality customer service.
Lead by example and encourage colleagues to conduct activities by the applicable laws as well as ABL Group QHSE standards.
Maintaining chargeable work.
Flexibility to working hours, willingness to travel and work within a variety of time zones, matching client locations, sometimes at short notice.
Enthusiastic and interested team player with a can do approach willing to take part in the growth of the company.
This role will be open to base in countries within the APAC region: Singapore/Australia/ Indonesia/ Malaysia/Thailand and the candidate must have the right to live and work in any of the APAC regions mentioned.
What we are looking for.
Civil/Structural/Coastal/Marine Civil Engineer or Unlimited Master Mariner (STCW II/2)
Fully conversant with marine and engineering consultancy business
Good commercial and financial understanding.
At least 10 years experience onshore/offshore
At least 5 years work in a similar or relevant role.
Experience in setting and executing mid to large-scale project and/or business plans.
Track record in project management and delivery of mid to large scale projects.
Track record in winning and delivering work
Good decision making capability with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus.
Accurate reporting in English and the ability to deliver high quality work on time.
Good communication and interpersonal skills and be able to deal effectively with multiple issues and assignments simultaneously.
Forward-thinking with high ethical standards and appropriate professional image.
Well organized and self-directed individual
Outgoing and pragmatic with strength of character, proactive and insightful
Team player with excellent communication skills
