The Opportunity
The School of Photovoltaic and Renewable Energy Engineering (SPREE) has an opportunity for a Postdoctoral Fellow. You will conduct research in the field of floating photovoltaic (PV) system design and connection, hydrogen electrolyser analysis, assessment and evaluation, PV-Load connection and optimisation, and thin film chalcogenide materials and devices. Additionally, you will develop your research expertise by pursuing specific projects relevant to your field of study.
This role reports to Dr Kaiwen Sun and has no direct reports.
- Level A, Salary - AUD$110,059 to $117,718 per annum + 17% superannuation
- Full time
- Fixed-term contract 12 months with potential extension
- Location: Kensington Sydney, Australia

Skills & Experience
- A PhD in electrical or electronic engineering, photovoltaic, material, physics, chemistry, or related discipline. Work experience in fabrication and characterisation of chalcogenide thin film materials for PV devices and Photoelectrochemical devices or PV system design especially floating PV system, or PV-Load connection and optimisation for desired and maximum output.
- Demonstrated track record in research with outcomes of high quality and high impact with clear evidence of the desire and ability to continually achieve research excellence as well as the capacity for research leadership.
- Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
- Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Demonstrated ability or experience to interact/work with the profession and industry partners and attract funding for learning and teaching initiatives.
- An understanding of and commitment to UNSW's aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
- Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
