Preclinical Imaging Market Sales Leader - APAC
Overview:
This position leads the Preclinical Imaging Market sales team in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. You'll be responsible for managing the sales and business strategy for Preclinical Imaging products (MRI, microCT, Optical Imaging, Nuclear Molecular Imaging) across various markets (academia, research hospitals, CROs, and pharma).
Responsibilities:
- Achieve quarterly and yearly sales targets for new orders and revenue in the APAC region.
- Develop and implement a growth strategy for all Preclinical Imaging business units, covering all markets and customer segments (government/academia, research hospitals, CROs, pharma).
- Manage all sales channels, including direct reports, shared resources, and a network of agents and distributors.
- Analyse the market share and potential for Preclinical Imaging products in APAC and provide customer-specific market analysis.
- Identify, prioritise, and pursue market opportunities to accelerate growth.
- Organise and implement educational and promotional activities to maximise customer awareness.
- Ensure effective use of the CRM system and accurate sales forecasts.
- Manage relationships with key opinion leaders and key accounts in academia and pharma.
- Set individual sales plans and quotas for each sales channel.
- Conduct regular visits to key customers and research centres.
- Collaborate with marketing to promote Preclinical Imaging products and attend relevant conferences.
- Partner with market management to organize symposiums and roadshows in key APAC countries.
- Gather market intelligence on competitor products, trends, and emerging fields.
- Oversee the development of the overall Preclinical Imaging sales funnel to ensure future growth.
- Provide feedback to the Global Sales Director on market dynamics and opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or 5+ years experience in life sciences with ongoing education (Master's or Ph.D. preferred).
- Experience with US stock exchange compliance training (code of conduct, FCPA, etc.).
- Strong sales methodology training (e.g., Miller Heiman Strategic Selling).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Current valid driver's license.
- No visa restrictions in APAC.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong communication skills for interacting with customers, distributors, agents, and colleagues.
- Highly motivated with a strong work ethic, experience in driving sales growth in a global environment, and a passion for new challenges.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and build positive business relationships.
- Successful sales background selling high-value capital equipment in the (ideally Preclinical) Imaging field.
- 10+ years of sales experience, including a minimum of 3 years experience managing technical life science product sales in APAC.
- Proven track record of growing business in academia, life sciences, or related markets.
- Strong understanding of complex and strategic selling strategies for business development and account expansion.
- Solid knowledge of MRI technology.
- Deep understanding of the Imaging Research Market.
- Extensive network of contacts in the relevant market segments.
- Ability to demonstrate theoretical and practical knowledge of Imaging technologies (MRI, microCT, PET, Optical Imaging).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English (written, verbal, computer, technical) with proficiency in MS Office Suite (including MS Teams). Fluency in additional APAC languages is a plus.
- Experience using Salesforce.com and SAP.
