Job Description
The school is seeking an outgoing, optimistic principal who can be at the forefront to set a fun ambience in our centre by injecting creative, aesthetic solutions for the operations of the centre, providing necessary cheerleading and support when the team needs it in a respectful, warm and affable manner.
Responsibilities of the principal includes below:
Strategic Leadership of the School
- Formulate overall strategic direction of the school and ensure it is aligned with the brand's strategic goals and targets
- Plan, revise, present and implement the school's plans (long term and short term) according to the school's development
Overall Management of the School
- Ensure daily smooth operation of school and manpower (ensure teacher to children ratio) in accordance to child care and other associated regulation (staff scheduling)
- Establish, review and align SOP to align to the brand's SOP as well as regulatory needs such as Health and Safety Policies
- Maintain and organise school's physical condition with the Team to maximise children's learning or for aesthetic reasons
Staff Management
- Understand the Team's struggles in daily operations and provide mentorship in different aspects such as effective communication with parents and children management
- Lead and be at the heart of the Team to unite the team based on trust and confidence
- Effectively communicate with the Team to nudge them in a quality direction and be firm when situations call for it
- Work Closely with HR Business Partner to plan projection of staffing requirements and other HR policies
- Involved in selection and recruitment of staffing
Curriculum Management
- Provide leadership to the team for a quality early childhood curriculum design, development and implementation in collaboration with our curriculum specialist
- Coach and support teachers to monitor, assess, document and maintain evaluation and assessment of children's learning and development
- Plan and monitor staff development such as staff's continuing professional development (CPD).
- Assist in teaching on an ad hoc basis, where required
A dynamic connection with parents and community:
- Establish and maintain positive, timely and effective communication with parents and the school community to build strong relationships with existing and prospective parents
- Interact with prospective parents efficiently such as to conduct tours
- Actively involved in admission process of new children
- Collaborate with marketing team to develop strategies and achieve target children enrolment
Requirements:
- A recognised Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education - Leadership (DECCE-L), or its equivalent.
- At least 4 years of teaching experience in a pre-school
- Leadership experience is prefered, otherwise an open mind to learning is required
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Passionate about children or the job scope of a principal
- Up to date with government regulations (Child Care Act and Regulation), curriculum framework (Nurturing Early Learners, Early Years Development Framework), quality assurance framework (SPARK)
