UWCSEA Campus seeks a Procurement leader (Assistant Manager/Manager) with strong negotiation & relationship-building skills. The incumbent needs to ensure ethical sourcing practices and lead a procurement team (potentially across campuses).
The successful candidate will be instrumental in upholding the College's commitment to ethical and responsible procurement. Depending on your experience, you will be considered for either an Assistant Manager or Manager role. You will be primarily based on East campus (your main work location), with travel required to our Dover campus on a weekly basis.
The Procurement Assistant Manager/Manager plays a vital role in leading our College's procurement function for the East Campus, with collaboration with our other campus at Dover. You will be responsible for managing all College purchases, ensuring transparency and cost-effectiveness in the process.
Reporting to the Head of Procurement, you will be actively involved in supporting daily operations to ensure a high standard of services for the College.
- Lead College Procurement & Manage Team
Oversee all College purchases (with the focus on tenders).- Champion ethical sourcing and manage procurement processes.
Develop and implement procurement strategies for cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
- Lead the procurement team and foster continuous improvement.
Foster a culture of accountability aligned with College values.- Prepare for and participate in procurement audits, ensuring departmental readiness.
- Strategic Procurement & Supplier Management
Review and update the Procurement Policy and SOP.- Negotiate purchasing terms with stakeholders and secure contracts.
Manage tenders, including the Tender Evaluation Committee and governance.
- Develop strong supplier relationships ensuring adherence to College standards.
Collaborate with departments to determine needs and build purchasing solutions.- Maintain up-to-date contract records and trigger renewal discussions.
- Communication & Collaboration
Train and communicate the Procurement Policy, SOP, and best practices to the College community.- Liaise with key stakeholders to understand business needs and develop solutions.
Work closely with internal teams to develop comprehensive tender requirements.
- Generate comprehensive reports on procurement activities and performance metrics.
Provide expert advice on procurement processes.- Promote the ERP system, ensuring compliance and data accuracy.
Degree and relevant professional qualifications- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, in a fast-paced procurement function.
Knowledge of contract administration and tender processes.
- Depending on your experience, you will be considered for either an Assistant Manager or Manager role.
Possess strong leadership and people management skills.- Builds strong supplier relationships through exceptional communication and collaboration.
Ability to adapt quickly and thrive in ambiguous work environments and maintain a high degree of flexibility.

Proficient in generating reports, Google Suite, macOS. Familiar with Procurement ERP and sourcing systems.
