Identify and source suppliers for both direct and indirect materials/services to expand the supplier base and meet new project and production requirements.
Obtain quotes from newly identified suppliers to determine costs and explore opportunities for cost reduction.
Lead negotiations with suppliers on a regular basis to ensure competitive pricing for materials and services.
Participate in supplier qualification audits to ensure compliance with company standards and requirements.
Evaluate and approve suppliers for inclusion in the approved vendor list.
Conduct regular performance reviews of suppliers to monitor quality and assess capabilities.
Maintain and update standard operating procedures for the procurement department to ensure consistent workflow processes.
Develop and negotiate favorable supply agreements with suppliers to optimize procurement processes.
Collaborate with other departments and suppliers to establish efficient supply chain models with minimal inventory holdings.
Work with engineering and warehouse departments to ensure adherence to quality standards for supplied items.
Provide the sales department with periodic quotation templates for standard products and generate quotations based on customer requirements.
Complete any additional tasks or projects assigned by management.
Job Requirements:
Possess a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 2-3 years of relevant experience.
Diploma holders should have at least 2 years of experience in sourcing components and fabrication parts.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is essential.
