This position is for PaxOcean Group, a company under Kuok Group Singapore.
Roles and Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with Commercial, Engineering and shipyard project teams requirements.
Source, identify, and qualify potential suppliers for a wide range of marine equipment, including navigation system, propulsion, safety, mechanical machinery, electrical package & etc.
Collaborate with engineering, project management, and other departments to ensure equipment specifications are met.
Manage the Request for Quotation (RFQ) process, negotiating competitive pricing and contract terms with manufacturers/suppliers.
Oversee the entire procurement lifecycle: timely delivery, complete documentation, and quality compliance as well as warranty claims.
Be the focal communication and support point between Commercial, Engineering and shipyard project teams with key equipment vendors.
Work with Legal and Contract Manager on ensuring adequate as well as appropriate contractual terms. Also, monitoring key equipment vendors adherence to purchase contract.
Anticipate potential risks impacting key equipment contract execution / vendor performance, assess the potential impact across and implement appropriate risk mitigation measures.
Manage supplier relationships, fostering collaborative partnerships and ensuring continuous improvement in service and pricing.
Stay up to date on industry trends, technological advancements, and market fluctuations affecting marine equipment.
Manage and maintain a comprehensive database of approved suppliers and equipment.
Monitor and analyse procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize the procurement process.
Ensure compliance with all relevant maritime regulations and shipyard quality standards.
Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, or Procurement-related field
Minimum 8 years of experience in marine equipment procurement or a similar role.
Proven experience in developing and implementing procurement strategies.
Experience in leading a team of buyers.
Strong negotiation with proven track record of successful negotiation outcomes, including contract terms, pricing, and vendor agreements.
Proficient in procurement software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
In-depth knowledge of international trade regulations and incoterms.
Understanding of shipbuilding processes and marine equipment.
Resourceful / thinking out of the box in solving complex supply chain problems in a structured and analytical manner and are good at balancing multidimensional stakeholder demands with the need for results
Good interpersonal and communication skills for building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Able to collaborate effectively, resolve conflicts, and foster productive partnerships with vendors, and cross-functional project teams.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
