Job purpose
- Provide leadership, mentorship and coaching for logistics procurement team Asia, MEIAF and direct & indirect Procurement for SEA, MEIAF.
- Act as an integral part of the regional procurement leadership team in Asia, global logistics procurement team and regional logistics operations management team.
About the job (Job Responsibilities)
- Lead the team in the development and implementation of efficient sourcing and category management strategies.
- Estimating risks and apply risk minimizing techniques.
- Researching and anticipating shifts in the negotiation power of suppliers.
- Developing the organization to identify improvement areas, explore cost reduction opportunities and establish a total cost of ownership approach internally and with external suppliers.
- Actively working to improve commercial terms with suppliers, identifying ways to support minimize spending and reduce cost to support the company's financial objectives.
- Work actively with key stakeholders in the businesses and ISC including manufacturing, engineering, and also finance and other functions to build alignment around targets and establish common execution plans to support business growth and profitability improvement.
- Collaboration with Nouryon's India Service Center in support of Tail Spend (Low Spend) sourcing automation to ensure robust procurement support to Nouryon's Manufacturing Sites.
- Lead the continuous cross-business assessment and benchmarking to identify logistics improvement opportunities.
- Cooperate with internal stakeholders (e.g. Business line, Production sites, Logistics Hubs, Logistics Improvement teams and procurement) to guarantee agreement on terms and processes.
- Drive stakeholder experience by establishing adequate communication and reporting discipline coupled with frequently tactical alignment to navigate changing (market) circumstances.
- Develop and maintain in-depth market knowledge and forecasting abilities.
- Develop and drive the organization to identify improvement areas, explore cost reduction opportunities and establish a total cost of ownership approach internally and with external suppliers.
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for product and services designed to support the identified business needs and in line with the Global Procurement strategy following the SSM methodology.
- Represent Nouryon; build and maintain a network of business contacts in support of organizational objectives; conduct business in a responsible and ethical manner.
We believe you bring (Education & Experience)
- A minimum of 10 years experience in Logistics / Indirect procurement and / or logistics operations roles.
- Good understanding of the Supply Chain and Manufacturing functions: strategy, processes, systems and organization.
- Experience (direct / indirect) dealing with sales and customer service organizations.
- Change management: managing improvement programs with diverse teams as well as the cultural aspects of the change to be delivered.
- Strong Project management experience (In-depth knowledge of Nouryon (ALPS) processes and / or LEAN management methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma.
- Experience in Sourcing including Strategic Sourcing Methodology and contract management.
- Preferable background in logistics operations and HSE requirements (warehousing and transportation) and manufacturing.
- Preferable background in engaging in the APAC, Middle East and Africa regions.
