About the role
This position is for a Procurement Specialist, who is responsible for Operational procurement, Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Procurement Specialist, youll be responsible for:
Operational Procurement
Creation of purchase orders, expediting delivery, and updating SAP master data to ensure system data integrity.
Coordinate with stakeholders to forecast, plan, and facilitate on-time Parts deliveries, manage inventory risks, and develop contingency plans with supplier.
Manage purchasing policies and standard procedures to ensure compliance with company controls and policies.
Utilize SAP data for comprehensive part pricing analysis and management, ensure effective control and accurate update of supplier pricing in SAP.
Strategic Sourcing
Develop and implement sourcing strategies to align with organizational objectives with focus on year-over-year cost savings. Actively driving low-cost sourcing strategies and supporting new product introduction.
Analyze market trends, conduct cost-benefit analysis including the establishment of commodity-hedging process.
Oversee contract management, negotiate all contracts and agreements to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
Supplier Management
Develop Payment term improvement plan and negotiate supplier payment terms to optimize cash flow and financial efficiency.
Strategically manage lead times reduction plan and collaborate with suppliers to optimize purchasing processes (e.g., Blanket PO) to ensure timely delivery of parts while minimizing inventory holding costs.
Collaborate closely with the technical team to ensure the reliability and quality of parts. Actively working with supplier on parts qualification and related technical issue resolution.
Generate and maintain purchasing KPI reporting and liaise with finance and accounting on cost-related matters. Prepare and present comprehensive spend & cost-saving reports derived from procurement activities and initiatives.
Manage supplier performance evaluation to include pricing, lead time, quality control, and delivery performance, while conducting regular assessments to maintain a reliable partner roster.
Manage the end-to-end vendor onboarding process, including the evaluation and verification of new suppliers financial health, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements, and facilitating the integration of new vendors into the procurement system.
Requirements

As a minimum you must have:
A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is preferred, with a focus on Purchasing, Inventory, and Supply Chain Management being advantageous.
Proven minimum of 3 years of experience in a strategic procurement sourcing position with a strong emphasis on cost saving skills.
Possesses an excellent grasp of procurement best practices, sourcing methods, and contract negotiations skills including understanding supplier managed inventory strategies.
Familiarity with relevant contract laws, regulations, and adherence to ethical standards pertaining to purchasing.
Effective presentation, communication, and interpersonal abilities to work with various stakeholders.
Demonstrates strong negotiation skills and the capability to establish and sustain supplier relationships.
An independent driver who exhibits strong data analytical and problem-solving skills with minimal supervision, demonstrating the ability to make informed decisions and drive results.
Experience in managing parts procurement sourcing will be an added advantage.
Proficiency in using procurement software and tools, such as SAP (MRP), SAP Ariba, advanced Microsoft Excel, and Power BI will be an added advantage.
