General Description:
Bank of Singapore (BOS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of OCBC Bank, Southeast Asia's second largest bank. Headquartered in Singapore, Bank of Singapore is one of the fastest growing private banks in Asia.
The Alternative Investments and Managed Solutions business of BOS is responsible for the sourcing, selection, advisory, marketing and post-sales lifecycle management of both public and private market funds and investment solutions as well as discretionary and advisory portfolio management. The fund products are offered to clients in the form of fund structures or as structured notes with the fund as the underlying.
The Managed Investments ( MI) team is responsible for the investment advisory and distribution and post-sales monitoring of in-house and third party, professionally managed, fund investment opportunities (including Alternatives fund investments), Advisory Portfolio Management ( APM) and Discretionary Portfolio Management ( DPM).
Main Duties:
Advisory and Sales
Drive sustainability awareness across Bank of Singapore's key locations and hubs. Develop the education plan, educate and advise investment advisors and relationship managers on sustainability trends and sustainable investments.
Grow AUM and increase the penetration of Managed Investments (funds, APM and DPM) through marketing and advice to RMs and clients. This involves maintaining strong collaboration with Relationship Managers/Investment Advisors.
Be a liaison between the Fund Selection, APM and DPM teams and Front Office, articulating investment philosophy, process, performance, positioning and market outlook, as well as proactively identifying opportunities or client interest
Conduct fund, APM and DPM review meetings with clients, and undertake group sales meetings with RMs from designated markets to provide them with focus ideas and updates
Align the recommendation of funds to BOS's overall asset allocation models to achieve outperformance versus appropriate benchmarks
Participate in Advisory team meetings with the Fund Selection and APM team to help brainstorm new ideas and funds that should be prioritized for onboarding
Demonstrate effective collaboration with other sales and research teams within Product Management Group (PMG), and other Bank of Singapore/OCBC departments.
DPM Content and Product Development
Prepare and maintain DPM marketing and client materials including pitchbooks, presentations, proposals, client reporting, and performance commentaries.
Support new DPM products and client communication efforts, including development of materials to help the Front Office explain portfolio strategy, risk and performance to clients of various levels of sophistication
In conjunction with the DPM and MI Advisory teams, assist with new DPM product ideation and DPM product development
Data Analysis
Using data analytics tools, identify patterns of behaviour of clients across funds and assist to track client activity, particularly during focus / campaign periods
Analyse business data and highlight any observable trends to the business to assist with planning and strategic initiatives
Incorporate a targeted approach to advisory, using data to customise ideas to specific RMs and clients
Platform / Client Experience
With clients becoming increasingly digital in their interactions with the bank, the incumbent will be involved in strategic projects that help to reduce friction between the bank and the client, and deliver improvements in the way that we communicate digitally with our clients
The incumbent will improve client experience through increasing the use of targeted messaging, as well as improve contextualization of our communication with our RMs and clients
Relationship Management with Fund House
Manage the relationship with mutual fund houses including any negotiation of distribution agreements.
Qualifications
Work Experience Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years work experience in Asset Management/Private Bank as a product specialist, with experience in client engagement and customer experience
Strong investments background, with solid knowledge of funds and DPM & APM across global equities, fixed income and alternative asset classes
Knowledge and hands on experience with data analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau and/or Qlikview with the ability to interpret this data and draw conclusions
Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to project a high level of professionalism, and effectively communicate with clients, portfolio managers and management in small and large settings
Experience in Python or similar coding language will be looked upon favourablyEducation Requirements:
Good, relevant under-graduate degree
CFA holder and or Master's degree in finance from reputable university is strongly preferred
Good command of 2nd language preferred considering that the role will be supporting global market
