Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Programme Director with a strong background in transformation-focused programme delivery across the Asia-Pacific region. Ideally, the candidate will have experience as an ex-consultant or a seasoned Programme Director, with a track record of successfully delivering large-scale, complex programmes in the financial services industry.

### Role Overview:

As the Programme Director, you will be accountable for the overall integrity and coherence of a new, high-impact programme. Your role will be to develop and maintain a programme environment that supports multiple workstreams under a centralised Programme Office. This includes ensuring that project managers and workstream leads meet delivery expectations, quality standards, and align with overall programme goals. You will be the primary point of contact between the consulting firm and the client, offering guidance to both internal teams and senior stakeholders.

### Key Responsibilities

Programme Integrity And Consistency

Maintain the programme's structural integrity and coherence by ensuring alignment with internal and client standards across all workstreams. Serve as the primary authority overseeing consistency and quality throughout the programme lifecycle.

Strategic Leadership And Guidance

As the senior programme resource, offer high-level guidance to workstream leads, supporting the Partner group in programme oversight. Provide strategic direction to ensure all team members stay aligned with the programme's overarching goals.

Stakeholder Engagement And Collaboration

Work closely with senior client stakeholders to design and implement the programme framework. Proactively monitor progress, address emerging issues, and initiate corrective actions to keep the programme on track.

Governance And Quality Assurance

Establish and lead governance frameworks to uphold quality standards and ensure programme cohesion with corporate, technical, and specialist requirements. Manage governance forums, ensure compliance, and enforce quality protocols.

Resource And Budget Management

Effectively allocate and manage programme resources, control budgets, and align costs with anticipated benefits throughout the programme's progression. Ensure resources are shared and allocated optimally across projects.

Timely And Quality Delivery

Oversee the on-time, high-quality delivery of all programme components. Ensure all deliverables align with the programme's governance plan and meet established timelines, quality expectations, and budget constraints.

Team And Vendor Coordination

Directly manage project managers and workstream leads while overseeing contributions from third-party vendors. Coordinate with stakeholders familiar with investment systems, trade lifecycle, and operations, establishing strong relationships and ensuring seamless collaboration.

High-Level Communication

Provide regular, senior-level updates on programme progress to key stakeholders, including C-suite and senior executives. Highlight critical developments, risks, and achievements to maintain stakeholder confidence and support.

Risk And Dependency Management

Lead the identification, management, and mitigation of risks, ensuring dependencies and interfaces across projects are harmonized to support successful programme outcomes.

Programme Reporting And Planning

Deliver regular progress reports to the Programme Sponsor, spotlighting achievements, challenges, and mitigation strategies. Oversee detailed programme and project planning to ensure a well-coordinated delivery schedule and clear roadmap.

Adaptive Leadership And Engagement

Demonstrate a versatile leadership style to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders and adapt to varying needs and situations. Provide strong guidance on programme scope, timelines, and key deliverables to support the achievement of Go-Live by end-2025.

### Additional Capabilities

Programme Office Establishment And Management

Quickly establish and manage a fully functional Project Management Office (PMO) to oversee key programme functions, including RAID logs, change requests, governance forums, and close tracking of deliverables, milestones, risks, and issues.

Stakeholder And Buy-In Management

Drive strong senior stakeholder engagement and secure buy-in from clients and vendors, instilling confidence in the programme's direction and progress. Collaborate effectively with a team of PMO members while managing buy-in from workstream leads across requirements, system configuration, testing, and change management.

Proactive Issue Resolution And Integration

Dive into critical programme areas, such as technology interfaces or legal considerations, with curiosity and energy, identifying solutions or guiding domain experts to address challenges. Act as the essential glue that brings together and centralizes consulting resources, enabling seamless coordination and a unified programme delivery approach.

Requirements

  • Experience: 15-20 years of experience managing large-scale technology delivery programmes across the Asia financial services market, including multi-country implementations.
  • Transformation Expertise: Strong preference for candidates with experience managing complex investment management transformations, encompassing front, middle, and back-office processes.
  • Outsourcing Knowledge: Familiarity with investment management outsourcing and platform replacement (e.g., legacy system migrations).
  • Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to manage relationships with C-suite executives and key vendor partners.
  • Project Management Skills: Expert-level project planning and management capabilities.
  • Team Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading large delivery teams (30+ members).
