Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee geotechnical design and engineering activities for major construction projects, with a focus on deep excavation and cut-and-cover tunnel works.
- Ensure the proper execution of geotechnical site investigations, soil analysis, and design recommendations.
- Supervise the day-to-day activities on-site, ensuring that the geotechnical works are carried out according to design specifications, timelines, and safety standards.
- Provide technical support to the project team, contractors, and consultants, addressing geotechnical challenges and offering solutions as necessary.
- Review and monitor the progress of geotechnical works, ensuring compliance with design standards, statutory codes, and quality control procedures.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (civil, structural, etc.) to ensure smooth integration of geotechnical works within the overall project design and execution.
- Ensure compliance with statutory codes, safety regulations, and site supervision requirements set by the Professional Engineers Board (PEB) of Singapore and other relevant authorities.
- Manage construction administration tasks, including preparation and review of documentation, progress reports, and quality control measures.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, contractors, and internal teams to resolve any issues or discrepancies related to geotechnical works.
- Assist in the preparation of tender documents, technical specifications, and contract administration for geotechnical-related works.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience as a geotechnical engineer, with at least 4 years in design coordination and supervision of works similar in nature to major construction projects.
- Proven experience in geotechnical engineering for large-scale projects involving deep excavation, tunneling, and cut-and-cover tunnel works.
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, recognized by the Professional Engineers Board (PEB) of Singapore.
- In-depth knowledge of geotechnical design principles, site supervision, quality control procedures, and construction administration.
- Familiarity with statutory codes, regulatory requirements, and best practices for geotechnical works in Singapore.
- Strong leadership and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and ensure timely project delivery.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software and tools, as well as project management tools.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
