Position Title: Project Engineer Pharmaceutical Manufacturing
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer to support and oversee various engineering projects within our pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities. In this role, you will ensure that all project activities comply with industry regulations, meet quality standards, and align with our organizational goals for operational excellence. This is a critical role that will contribute to the successful completion of projects such as facility expansions, equipment installations, and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Coordination: Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and resources for pharmaceutical manufacturing projects, ensuring alignment with project goals and regulatory requirements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with teams across R&D, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Production, and Engineering to ensure smooth project execution and adherence to timelines.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure all projects comply with cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practice), FDA, and other regulatory standards, with a strong focus on maintaining quality and safety.
- Vendor & Contractor Management: Coordinate with vendors and contractors for equipment sourcing, installation, and validation, including managing contracts, schedules, and project documentation.
- Process Optimization: Identify and implement engineering solutions to optimize production processes, reduce costs, and improve efficiency while maintaining product quality and regulatory compliance.
- Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation plans for project-related activities, ensuring proactive management of potential project risks.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed project documentation, including project plans, timelines, budgets, and compliance reports, and present project updates to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Process, or related field); Master's degree is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 experience in project engineering, ideally within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences industries.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, facility requirements, and relevant regulatory standards (e.g., cGMP, FDA, EU guidelines).
- Project Management Skills: Experience with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and proficiency in managing timelines, budgets, and resources.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving engineering and process challenges.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience in coordinating across diverse teams and presenting project updates to stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification.
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical facility requirements, including clean room design, HVAC systems, and process equipment.
