Job Summary:
The Project Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This role involves working closely with project managers, engineering teams, and other departments to ensure successful project delivery. The Project Engineer will be involved in project planning, technical review, and site coordination, providing essential support throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Coordination:Assist in defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with client requirements and business goals.
Develop and monitor project schedules, budgets, and work plans, using project management tools to track progress and ensure timely completion.
Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure alignment on project milestones and deliverables.
- Technical Support and Design Review:Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and documentation to ensure engineering quality and compliance.
Provide technical input to the design process, working closely with design teams to address any engineering challenges.
Support project manager in evaluating design changes, assessing their impact on project schedules and budgets.
- Site Coordination and Quality Control:Conduct site visits as needed to monitor project progress, identify issues, and ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure materials and equipment meet quality requirements and project specifications.
Assist in conducting quality control inspections, ensuring that installations align with engineering and regulatory standards.
- Documentation and Reporting:Prepare and maintain project documentation, including status reports, meeting minutes, and technical documents.
Provide regular updates to project managers on project progress, potential risks, and any adjustments needed to stay on track.
Support procurement activities by reviewing material specifications and participating in vendor evaluations as necessary.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or a related field).
- 3-5 years of experience in a project engineering role, preferably in [specific industry, e.g., oil and gas, construction, manufacturing].
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD).
- Familiarity with industry standards and codes relevant to engineering projects.
