Job Description

The incumbent shall be reporting to the Senior Manager, Product Development & Improvement (PDI). Supporting day-to-day business operations relating to purchasing activities, buying new product materials for product development and commercialization to support business operations locally and regionally according to corporate direction.

He/She shall be working with the PDI team in developing and implementing Procurement Strategies and policies along with and supplier performance management based on PDI requirements. The person shall support PDI in on time project delivery through the allocated responsibilities and duties.

Responsibilities

  • To support in order management, Purchase Order (PO) issuance, Incoterm and Payment Term accuracy, etc.
  • To process on-boarding of new supplier and management of suppliers for requisition of new materials requirements
  • Responsible for monitoring delivery schedules to ensure timely supply of product materials from suppliers/manufacturers to support product development and commercialization process.
  • Familiarise with the incoterm 2020 will be an added advantage.
  • To coordinate with Factory, Finance Dept and external provider as required to ensure end to end closure of PR/PO & GR/IR.
  • Publishing of key purchasing performance report required on procurement activities to include and not limited to Spent, Active PO Tracking and On-Time Delivery (OTD), etc
  • Coordinate the master project lists update between project owners and respective department stakeholders
  • Support team in PDI documentation process and coordinate meetings for review and discussion.
  • Manage laboratory test reports documentation and support BDM/Sales on product registration/regulation submission.
  • To develop excellent and effective collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and external providers and other agencies to ensure strategic and operational needs are fully understood and incorporated.
  • Uphold and observe corporate governance and compliance to promote awareness and transparency.
  • To drive continuous improvement, best value and quality improvements within the team and departments in challenging existing practices and actively seek ways to achieve better outcomes, contributing to ensure key performance and financial targets are met and corrective action taken where necessary.
  • Any other ad-hoc projects assigned by immediate reporting and must be hands-on.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Supply Chain Management/Engineering with prior experience on supplier management will be considered
  • Prior experience in/supply to tobacco industry will be added advantage
  • At least 5 years proven work experience in procurement and/or product development.
  • Some experience in logistics and familiarity with incoterms 2020 would be an advantage.
  • Fluent in Mandarin would be an advantage and English is a must.
  • Preferably working experience in Manufacturing/Production, Electrical, Mechanical industries.
  • Meticulous, systematic, organizes, proactive, good analytical skills and sound business judgement.
