Established in 2010, the Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERI@N) is a pan-university research institute that focuses on systems-level research for tropical megacities. It performs translational research that covers the energy value chain from generation to innovative end-use solutions, motivated by industrialisation and deployment. ERI@N has multiple Interdisciplinary Research Programmes which focus on translational Research, Development & Deployment which focus on specific area of the energy value chain, and a number of Living labs and Testbeds which facilitate large scale technology deployment enabling validation and demonstration of real-world applications.
This project will be on recycling of spent lithium ion batteries.
Key Responsibilities
- Scoping studies on recycling of lithium- ion batteries and circular economy potential in Singapore
- Experimental techniques for upcycling metals
- Synthesis and characterization of battery materials and fabrication. Precipitation, characterization and purity analysis of products by various characterization techniques
- Carry out optimization of the equipment and SOP of various processes for batteries
- Prototyping activities including proof of concept demonstration of successful processes
- Responsible for project goals, deliverables, and objectives of the company project
- Preparing and delivering Meeting presentations, notes, updates, and reports as per the request of the project
Job Requirements
- Possess at least a Bachelor's degree in Materials Science/Engineering or related disciplines.
- Experience in working on battery systems , Recycling
- Synthesis of new cathode and anode materials for batteries
- Wide knowledge of different synthesis methodology for various materials
- Expertise in materials characterization techniques including ICP-OES, XRD, SEM, TEM, spectroscopic techniques,
- Knowledge of electrochemical studies, including such as electrodialysis, electrodeposition, galvanostatic, potentiostatic, impedance techniques
- An effective team player with good communication & interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team as well as independently without supervision
- Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Good communication and writing in English - for research purposes
- Strong responsibility for research / work
