Property & Casualty Underwriter (India)

Our client is seeking a skilled Treaty Underwriter to join our Property & Casualty team in Singapore. This position will play a crucial role in technical pricing and will report to the Head of Underwriting for Asia Pacific. Ideal candidates will possess a strong actuarial background.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and underwrite profitable treaty reinsurance business for Property and Casualty within the Asia Pacific region.
• Acquire and analyze market intelligence to enhance understanding of market trends.
• Establish a comprehensive understanding of cedents through direct interactions with cedents and brokers, as well as by examining their portfolios and reinsurance proposals.
• Perform technical pricing for treaty agreements.
• Develop, review, or amend treaty wordings.
• Provide underwriting recommendations to the Client Management team based on thorough technical analysis, and collaborate with them to execute treaty agreements.
• Oversee and assess treaty performance with the assistance of Client Managers.
• Manage treaty administration, including forecasts and planning figures.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
• Minimum of 5 years experience in reinsurance underwriting or actuarial roles.
• Proven experience with treaty underwriting in South Asian markets.
• Self-motivated and reliable team player with a collaborative approach and solution-oriented mindset.
