The Department of Child Development provides specialist diagnostic and intervention services to preschoolers who have developmental, emotional, and/or behaviour needs. We support children with a range of conditions such as autism, speech and language disorders, global developmental delay, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), anxiety, selective mutism, oppositional defiant disorders. We place high emphasis on working with the child's family to facilitate the child's learning and development.
Job Description
You will be part of a multidisciplinary team of doctors, psychologists, occupational therapists, speech language therapists, education therapists, nurses and social workers. You will provide assessments for diagnosis of autism, intervention recommendations and educational placements. You will provide evidence-based psychological interventions to manage mood, anxiety and behavioural issues, and work across disciplines to deliver transdisciplinary services. You will have opportunities to be involved in research and service projects.
Job Requirements
- At least a Master Degree in Psychology (Clinical /Educational) with practicum component
- Eligible for Singapore Psychological Society (SPS) full membership
- Eligible for registration with the Singapore Register of Psychologists (SRP)
- Effective interpersonal skills, verbal communication skills, and good psychological report writing skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team, and in a fast paced environment
- Preferably with working experience with young children (i.e., toddlers and preschoolers) and/or with children with autism.
