Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Psychology Intern to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will assist in implementing psychological assessments, interventions, and support strategies that enhance the well-being and development of our students. This internship provides a valuable opportunity for students or recent graduates in psychology, counselling, or a related field to gain hands-on experience in a supportive and impactful environment.

Key Responsibilities

1) Assisting in the administration of screening.

2) Collaborate with the team to develop individualized intervention plans based on assessment results and student needs.

3) Assist in implementing evidence-based therapeutic interventions and support strategies in group and individual settings.

4) Observe and document student behaviour and progress during sessions, providing valuable insights for program development.

5) Participate in team meetings to discuss case management, share observations, and contribute to the development effective strategies.

6) Help create resources and materials that support social-emotional learning and behavioral development for students and families.

7) Conduct research on current trends and best practices in child psychology and special education.

8) Engage with families to provide guidance and resources that support their child's psychological well-being and development.

Personal Development

1) Gain practical experience in psychological assessment and intervention techniques within a special needs context.

2) Enhance your understanding of child development and the impact of diverse needs on learning and behaviour.

3) Develop your research skills by exploring evidence-based practices in psychology and education.

4) Work closely with children, families, and educational professionals.

Preferred Qualifications

1) Enrollment in or recent completion of a degree program in psychology, counselling, or a related field.

2) A genuine interest in working with children with special needs and a passion for supporting their development.

3) Strong observational and analytical skills, with attention to detail.

4) Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with a capacity to collaborate effectively in a team.

5) A desire to contribute positively to the lives of children and their families within a community-focused organization.
