Mission of the role
The Public Affairs & Communications Manager role is to play a crucial role in managing and enhancing the company's reputation, representation, and relationships at, and with, Trade Associations, agencies, corporate stakeholders, and consumers.
You will participate actively in Trade Associations of which Campari is a member, external agency meetings, identify topics key to Campari and exert influence to advocate for Campari, and industry positions, to steer directions and agenda. You will monitor and analyze market trends and regulatory developments to proactively address potential challenges, leverage opportunities and implement anything necessary to fulfil regulatory requirements and/or objectives across APAC.
You will also be responsible for developing and executing strategies that promote positive engagement, address concerns, and build trust among key stakeholders. Your role will involve closely collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Legal, Public Affairs & Communications, to ensure alignment and effective communication.
In this role you will proactively engage with industry partners across the APAC region where required to build strong relationships, understand critical risks and opportunities related to fiscal and regulatory environment, and environmental policies.
Key Activities & Responsibilities
Regulatory & Sustainability Agenda
Lead Campari APACs regulatory agenda to ensure fair taxation and trade, market and consumer access for the Campari portfolio across the region.
Monitor and analyse regulatory changes possibly impacting the Campari Group/wines and spirits industry and lead the execution of any required regional strategies to address those potential impacts in close coordination with all relevant internal and external stakeholders (industry associations, relevant government ministries, SAOs, Embassies, etc.).
Monitor emerging sustainability/enviromental protection regulation initiatives across the region and develop policy positioning and/or recommendations for the organisation in relation to compliance with any EPR related regulatory reform (together with Supply Chain).
Proactively partner regional Managing Directors, Legal and Regulatory teams as required to support the implementation of strategic initiatives across the region.
Strategy Building
Design and execute a Public Affairs and Communications strategy suited to the regional and local needs, with clear and measurable goals.
Map and monitor industry policies, legislation and regulation to set and/or enable strategic priorities for Campari, to be in line with local legislations and Camparis legal stand
Trade Associations
Participate in and lead/chair industry associations when necessary.
Support the reporting, development, and implementation of advocacy strategies to influence policy decisions through Campari trade association memberships.
Ensure Campari is well represented amongst industry bodies and stakeholder groups.
Brand and Reputation Management
Manage and protect the Campari brand and reputation both internally and externally, with good understanding of local related legislations and sensitivities
Collaborate with all relevant stakeholders to develop initiatives that responsibily shape Alcohol and Health policy debate in the spirits and wines industry in APAC.
Risk Management
Understand the macro landscape, identify future challenges and propose mitigating actions.
Cross Functional Support & Communications
Support other functions with their priorities when it may impact our external branding.
Assist with any corporate communication requirements across the region.

Internal: Public Affairs and Communications, Legal, HR, Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, Local MDs
Experience & Education & Skills
Master's/Undergraduate Degree in International Relations, Economics or Communications related degree level or higher
8-12 years of working experience within the region in similar roles /complex international environments / FMCG businesses
Deep knowledge of business in FMCG industry
Languages: fluent in English, Chinese fluency a bonus

Strong analytical skills and ability to derive insights from large and complex sets of business data.
Ability to take initiatives and seek responsibilities beyond the ordinary scope (autonomy).
Recognized professional standing/seniority, having a Strong Influential leadership to interact with and influence other stakeholders.
In-depth understanding of relevant laws and regulations impacting the wines and spirits industry, as well as appreciation of industry/sector trends.
Excellent communication skills, including public speaking, writing, and negotiation.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
