Position Summary
The successful candidate will be part of the Global Public Affairs team, and will support the team's efforts in managing global ESG policy risks for SHEIN, including implementing strategies / plans to enhance SHEIN's credibility and corporate reputation related to ESG issues.
The successful candidate will support the development of strategic plans to help SHEIN manage global policy risks and enhance its corporate reputation. In addition, he/she will work closely with relevant teams to develop global strategic partnerships related to advancing SHEIN's ESG objectives and strategies, and to contribute to SHEIN's reporting and communication about key ESG projects/initiatives and overall ESG progress to both internal and external stakeholders, such as through the annual sustainability and social impact report.
In this role, the candidate must be able to work effectively with various teams, including SHEIN's global and market-based ESG, Government Relations, Public Relations and business/operational teams.
Responsibilities
- Track, monitor and provide assessment of ESG policy issues and their implications to SHEIN's business and operations
- Support the development of recommendations to senior management and relevant internal teams on strategies to manage ESG policy risks and enhance SHEIN's public positioning on ESG issues
- Support the development of strategic partnerships with key global stakeholders (e.g. non-governmental and international organisations, industry associations, government officials and regulators, other industry and business organisations), with a primary focus on social impact and ESG projects
- Organise and manage meetings with external parties related to ESG issues, including the preparation of briefing notes/presentations for senior management's reference
- Support the development of SHEIN's annual sustainability and social impact report and other strategic communications materials in support of the company's overall policy positioning and profiling
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree or professional certification in ESG, Environmental Policy, Climate Change or other sustainability related fields
- At least 4 years of working experience in government relations or public policy relevant to ESG in either the public or private sector
- Keen interest in ESG and social impact projects, with the ability to translate high-level objectives into practical outcomes
- Strong analytical, presentation (written and oral) and project management skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task and have exceptional attention to detail while operating in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
