Our client, a Japanese mechanical and electrical engineering company, specializes in constructing indoor wiring and power transmission lines, as well as installing air conditioning, water supply, and sewage systems in buildings and plants. They are currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor with expertise in M&E.
Report to: Tender Manager
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain a strong industry network with subcontractors, vendors, and equipment suppliers.
- Stay updated on market price trends.
- Administer ACMV/Electrical tenders and manage tendering procedures effectively.
- Strategize, plan, and control all tendering activities.
- Define the scope of work and commercial requirements to assess project risks.
- Prepare and follow up on Requests for Quotations from suppliers/sub-contractors to ensure timely tender costing and technical submissions.
- Extract Bill of Quantities from ACMV Drawings, Points of Schedules, and Architectural drawings.
- Collate price comparisons, costing summaries, and technical proposals for tender submission preparation.
- Review addendum/corrigendum documents and update costing summaries and technical proposals accordingly.
- Organize and maintain relevant documentation systematically.
- Attend site briefings, site meetings, and post-tender interviews as needed.
Requirements & Preferences
(Must)
- Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- 3-5 years experience as a Quantity Surveyor in M&E Construction, experience with electrical work for building
- Candidates with 3 years of experience as a Project Engineer/Electrical Engineer who are keen to do QS will also be considered. (Salary will be commensurate with experience)
- Excellent understanding of drawings for electrical work and specifications
- Independent, responsible, meticulous, analytical, and taking ownership
- Ability to take on ACMV tender and knowledge of tendering procedures is a must
- Possess up-to-date knowledge of market price trends
- Good industry network with subcontractors, vendors, and equipment suppliers
(Advantageous)
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience working in a Japanese company would be a plus!
