The Quantum Engineering Solutions (QES) division at Keysight Technologies seeks a highly skilled computational electromagnetic engineer to join our passionate team. QES is responsible for producing world-leading solutions for the challenging and exciting market of quantum technologies, including quantum computing, quantum communications, and quantum sensing.
The ideal candidate will have a strong experience in designing and developing quantum processors, quantum devices, and quantum related components such as quantum limited amplifiers. This role offers an unparalleled opportunity to spearhead the roll out and collaboration with a budding user community that will shape the future of quantum computing.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to tackle complex challenges in quantum computing collaboratively with our customers.
- Develop and implement of cutting-edge numerical electromagnetic algorithms tailored to the design of superconducting qubits and other types of qubits.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design and refine electromagnetic components and architectures for quantum computing applications.
- Drive the validation and verification process of computational models, ensuring accuracy and reliability in predicting qubit behavior and performance.
- Architect and optimize computational workflows to address specific challenges inherent in superconducting qubit systems and their Hamiltonian representations.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in computational electromagnetics and quantum computing, actively contributing to ongoing research initiatives.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to other junior team members, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence in development practices.
Qualifications
Job Qualifications:
- PhD degree in electrical engineering, physics, or a related field
- Background in modeling superconducting, spin, photonic, and/or nitrogen vacancy/color center qubits or quantum information
- Experience with electromagnetic simulation software packages (e.g., CST Microwave Studio, Keysight ADS, Ansys HFSS, COMSOL Multiphysics).
- Demonstration of knowledge in application via peer reviewed articles
- Proficiency in Python, C++ or other programminglanguages
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organization and coordination skills
- Ability to consistently deliver on deadlines and delight the customer
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment and to influence individuals over geographically dispersed teams
