Job Summary
The Regional Executive will drive the management of product safety, environmental, and chemical regulations across the region, ensuring zero non-compliance as the target. This role requires proactive adaptation to regulatory changes, audit preparedness, and the development of eLearning modules for compliance training across all sales companies. The candidate will lead regional subsidiaries, providing regulatory guidance, managing certifications, and ensuring adherence to best practices for product compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Regulatory Compliance & Adaptation:
. Ensure compliance with local / international product safety, environmental & chemical regulations.
. Lead efforts to swiftly align with regulatory changes across the region.
. Work closely with appointed vendors and industry experts to track updates in laws and regulations, minimizing any risks.
2. Audit Preparedness & Certification:
. Lead regional operations in audit preparedness by providing pre-audit capabilities to identify gaps in product safety management processes.
. Coordinate the renewal of certificates for relevant products, spare parts, and modules.
. Organize and participate in internal / external product safety and compliance-related meetings and audits.
3. Process Management & Improvement:
. Define and establish standardized safety and trade compliance registration processes and procedures for all regional products.
. Leverage internal and external benchmarking to drive improvements in product safety, environmental, and trade compliance metrics and performance indicators.
. Regularly review and update compliance processes to meet current and future regulatory requirements.
4. Risk Mitigation & Incident Resolution:
. Monitor and compliance efforts.
. Provide actionable solutions for managing risks and closing compliance gaps.
. Collaborate with country-level teams to ensure execution aligns with regional regulatory frameworks.
5. Stakeholder Collaboration & Coaching:
. Foster a collaborative environment by guiding sales subsidiaries on regulatory procedures, best practices, and compliance strategies.
. Serve as the single point of contact for safety and product compliance, liaising between internal teams and external agencies such as UL, TUV, and regulatory bodies.
. Mentor and develop local product safety officers by providing training on safety, product compliance, procedures, and best practices.
6. E-learning Development for Compliance:
. Act as key contact point for the formulation & implementation of product compliance e-learning modules.
. Collaborate with training and development teams to design and roll out e-learning initiatives across all sales companies.
. Ensure that e-learning materials reflect up-to-date regulatory requirements and provide practical guidance for employees on compliance topics.
. Monitor the effectiveness of the e-learning programs and continuously update content based on feedback and regulatory changes.
7. Project & Documentation Management:
. Manage complex safety and product compliance projects e.i system, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery.
. Maintain accurate records and documentation to support audit trails and regulatory submissions.
. Lead bi-annual or annual audits to ensure ongoing compliance across all product categories.
Key Job Requirements:Education:
. Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent.
Experience:
. Minimum of 4 years of experience in managing product safety, environmental compliance, and trade compliance in the SEA region.
. Proven experience working with regulatory agencies, including handling certifications, audit processes, and e-learning development.
. Strong project management capabilities.
. Experience in developing and implementing e-learning modules.
. Excellent communication skills in English able to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
. Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide data-driven solutions.
. Knowledge of industry best practices and regulations for product safety, environmental, and chemical compliance matters.
. Ability to adapt to regulatory changes and lead teams through transitions.
