The Methodist Missions Society (MMS) is the missions agency of (MCS). MMS seeks to establish indigenous churches supported by mission endeavors in communities across our region.
We have a vacancy for Regional Director (MMS).
Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead and care for the assigned field teams of MMS.
- Provide consultative and leadership guidance to CDs, field teams and CCOs in the formulation and implementation of approved field strategies, goals, and budget to achieve the established goals.
- Ensure the effective organization structures are in place in the assigned field.
- Together with CDs help build competent field teams to carry out the work effectively as well as plan and oversee leadership transitions in the assigned field.
- Implement Community Development initiatives and plant new indigenous and disciple-making churches together with the CD.
- Initiate dialogues with national church Pastors and Leaders concerning the movement toward selfsustainability.
- Report regularly on the progress of the work in the field and the implementation status of approved plans and projects.
- Ensure that effectiveness of funds budgeted/deployed to fulfil the mission through close monitoring together with the CD and CCO.
- Ensure compliance with governance as provided in MCS & MMS policies.
- Participate in the Church Engagement group and Governance groups in deliberating policy issues and compliance matters.
- Organize intentional training and coaching for national pastors and lay leaders in consultation with the Training Committee.
- Support CD in developing human resources in the assigned mission fields.
- Mentor, coach and develop CDs, National Leaders and CCOs.
- Lead and care for the respective field teams with the help of the CD, support group or individuals from MMS and Partner Churches.
- Visit the fields as necessary to engage, encourage and empower our missionaries and national leaders.
- Preach/Teach at churches and/or small groups.
- Any other adhoc projects/tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Job Requirements
- Possess a theological degree from a college recognized by MMS.
- At least 7 years of ministry experience related to Christian missions in South East Asia region.
- Strong spoken and written communication skills are required to collaborate with various key stakeholders.
- Able to communicate effectively across many levels of committees headed by clergy and laity.
- Able to work well independently and under challenging timelines.
- Good project management knowledge in planning, implementation and monitoring.
- Good business and financial knowledge.
- Proficient in MS Office Application (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
