Regional Head of Data Centre
We are seeking a skilled professional to develop and implement an advanced PMO (Project Management Office) framework along with effective project execution methodologies. This role requires expertise in managing multiple regional projects, overseeing project teams, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and apply a comprehensive project management framework and execution strategies, incorporating essential project management processes.
Oversee a diverse portfolio of regional projects, including personnel management, scheduling, technical oversight, team development, budget preparation, and financial reporting.
Lead and coordinate project teams, including project managers, architects, engineers, and consultants, to deliver mission-critical projects within scope, budget, and schedule.
Ensure that all projects comply with local regulations, statutory processes, and industry codes of practice.
Source and secure necessary resources, including contractors, suppliers, materials, and services, to support ongoing projects.
Track project progress across regions, identifying and implementing strategies for improved delivery efficiency.
Proactively identify and manage potential risks, conflicts, and issues related to project design and delivery, utilizing risk management techniques to mitigate impacts.
Implement and oversee cost control measures to ensure projects are completed within budget constraints.
Lead due diligence processes to evaluate and qualify potential sites and facilities for new projects.
Establish and manage procedures to ensure quality assurance and adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards during construction activities.
Enforce strict adherence to HSE policies, with active reporting and management of near-misses and safety incidents.
Identify workplace risks, hazards, and potential safety issues, taking proactive steps to mitigate them.
Foster a strong safety culture within the workplace through strategic initiatives and programs.
Negotiate and manage contracts with external consultants, project managers, contractors, and equipment vendors.
Manage and document project change requests, including time extensions, ensuring proper approval processes are followed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Construction, Engineering, Technology, or a related field.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in program or project management, with at least 5 years of experience in managing construction projects within mission-critical environments, such as data centers.
In-depth understanding of construction contracts, building codes, and industry standards.
Experience collaborating with various construction disciplines and trades, including architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection.
Ability to review and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and telecommunications drawings.
Relevant certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional), ATD, ATS, CDCP (Certified Data Center Professional), CDCS (Certified Data Center Specialist), CDCE (Certified Data Center Expert), CNCDP (Certified Network Cable Design Professional), CDRP (Certified Data Center Risk Professional), CDMS (Certified Data Center Management Specialist).
