About the Role: In this critical leadership position, you will oversee the New Business and Underwriting operations, ensuring seamless service delivery from application to policy issuance. You will drive innovation and operational excellence, creating a streamlined and customer-focused experience that sets the organization apart in the marketplace.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Design and implement a robust operational strategy that enhances efficiency and elevates customer experience across the New Business and Underwriting landscape.
- Take charge of the end-to-end process and customer journey, advocating for digital solutions like eApplications and straight-through processing to simplify operations.
- Act as a key change agent, evaluating change requests, leading governance initiatives, and championing necessary system enhancements to optimize performance.
Service Excellence:
- Lead the charge in delivering top-tier service across various channels, ensuring that operations align with customer expectations and drive satisfaction.
- Establish and monitor KPIs/SLAs, leveraging data to enhance operational insights and facilitate continuous improvement in metrics such as eApplication rates and productivity.
- Collaborate closely with the underwriting team to identify opportunities for enhancement and drive actionable results.
Capability Development:
- Share insights and best practices across the region to foster innovation in process automation and digitization.
- Provide valuable reporting on service and quality metrics, addressing performance gaps with targeted solutions and strategies.
- Engage in business analysis and project management to support impactful change initiatives.

Qualifications:
- Demonstrated success in leading operations and driving process improvements within retail-oriented financial services, particularly in insurance.

- A track record of achieving significant business benefits and a strategic, solution-oriented mindset.
- Strong communication abilities, capable of translating complex concepts into clear, actionable insights.
- A passion for continuous improvement, resilience, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable:
- At least 10 years of experience, including a minimum of 5 years in operational leadership or process enhancement roles.
- Familiarity with the insurance lifecycle and experience with shared service operations.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint, along with excellent organizational skills.
