A little bit about the role:
ORBCOMM is looking for a Regional Sales Manager that will play a fundamental role in achieving customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives. Through ownership and accountability, the Regional Sales Manager will enable the department and the organization to achieve its goals. They will also show initiative and look for opportunities to add value to job accomplishments by taking on challenging tasks and embracing new concepts. The ideal candidate will be based in Indonesia or Singapore.
Direct objectives will include but are not limited to:
Closing deals
Generating revenue by soliciting and obtaining orders
Understanding and interpreting technical requirements including providing technical information to customers
Developing potential customers
Expediting the deal time to close
Roles and Responsibilities:
Prioritize and manage time effectively to meet minimum acceptable sales and activity levels as established by the Director of Sales for your region.
Meet and/or exceed sales goals established by the Director of Sales.
Initiate contact with prospective customers by cold calling and/or emailing to determine potential interest in ORBCOMMs solutions and services.
Engage in direct selling over the phone/WebEx/MS Teams/Social Media to further build relationships with current customers and prospective customers to give and get referrals.
Qualify and close leads generated by marketing programs.
Facilitate new customer orientation process including gathering all necessary customer information.
Track, update, and manage information for accounts in ORBCOMMs CRM System Salesforce.com.
Complete paperwork in a timely manner.
Complete activity and pipeline reports and submit to management when required.
Develop and maintain detailed knowledge of ORBCOMM solutions
Present the ORBCOMM solution portfolio of products via MS Teams to prospective customers.
Confer with Customer Service Team to resolve customer issues.
Use customer feedback to generate ideas about new features and products.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
4+ years of direct service and solution selling in a B2B environment with preference for IoT/M2M/Connected Solution experience
High school diploma is required; bachelors degree preferred
Familiarity with the telematics and M2M industries
Knowledge of local market and businesses within the trucking/transportation industry
Must be comfortable performing cold calls, working with channel partners, generating interest, qualifying prospects, and directly closing sales.
Proven sales experience and a track record of over-achieving quota
A strong phone presence with excellent verbal and written communications skills including listening and presentation skills
An exceptional ability to meet objectives while working under tight deadlines.
An energetic, outgoing, and goal-oriented attitude coupled with a tenacity to handle rejection with professionalism and a drive to continue.
Must be comfortable partnering with decision makers of any size business including owners of small- to medium-sized businesses.
Willingness to collaborate and share ideas with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and as an active member of a team.
Proven time management and organization skills
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Teams) and familiarity with Salesforce.com.
