  • UWCSEA East Campus seeks qualified candidates for the position of Relief Gymnastics Coach with an immediate start date.

Reporting to the Head of Gymnastics, the Relief Gymnastics Coach at UWCSEA Dragons Gymnastics Team will be responsible for coaching all areas of gymnastics from Recreation, Excel and Competitive Gymnastics in both MAG and WAG, demonstrating initiative and confidence. The coach must be dynamic and adaptable, effectively managing the evolving gymnastics program within the international school environment.

  • Main Responsibilities
Plan and deliver gymnastics sessions for various levels, ensuring best practices in skill acquisition, choreography, and physical preparation. Promote a positive and disciplined environment, and support PE teachers during gymnastics units, viewing setbacks as learning opportunities.
  • Track gymnast attendance and progress, conduct periodic skill testing, and adhere to UWC safeguarding guidelines.
Ensure optimal usage and safety of gym equipment, maintain hazard awareness, follow safety protocols, and report issues to the Head of Gymnastics. Cover for colleagues when needed and ensure the gym is well-organized.
  • Manage the sign-up process, handle parent inquiries, and keep up-to-date records of student injuries. Participate in staff meetings, events, and competitions, and assist with assessments, registrations, trials, and camps.
Collaborate with the Head of Gymnastics and facilities team to set up equipment for meets and invitationals, ensuring adherence to competition guidelines. Assist with event preparations and provide coaching support during events. Guide parent and student volunteers, offering direction and support to ensure effective involvement in gymnastics events. Work with volunteers to enhance their contribution to the programs success.

  • Person Specifications
Degree in related field.
  • Qualified Gymnastics coach with excellent experience in coaching children (K12), with at least 3 years of experience.
Holding qualification Intermediate Coach (Level 1B) / similar or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of experience.
All-round knowledge of Gymnastics and development requirements pertaining to different age groups.
  • Adopt an appropriate approach to age group training focusing on technical competence, team-building and long term success.
Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills and able to relate to students, parents and teachers with quality service.
  • Familiar with Google Suite or equivalent software.
Able to work cohesively in a team-based environment as well as independently with a positive working attitude and a willingness to be involved in all aspects of school life.
  • Able to work during weekends and evenings.
