Reporting to the Heads of Subject or Head of Middle School, the incumbent will provide science technical support in the college's Science Department. Prepare, deliver, and maintain the experimental setups and manage the safe operating procedures of all equipment and materials to ensure the best experience of school practical science for students and support teachers in their roles.
- Coordinate the use of practical resources and printed materials, provide assistance and advice to staff and students in meeting the requirements of all curricular and extracurricular activities, including field trips.
Procure, prepare, deliver, and maintain the experimental setups and printed materials in each laboratory before each lesson and clear upon completion.- Complete the required procedures with internal and external departments and contractors to ensure provision of services and supplies (e.g. Facilities, Mail, Purchasing, Printing & Supplies).
Clean equipment thoroughly, including washing glassware and checking its safe operation, completing repair activities where possible or organising replacement services, maintenance, replacement and safe disposal of equipment making sure adequate equipment is available.
- Support sustainability in the planning, organisation, and execution of job duties.
Work with the Science Health and Safety Lead Technician to:
- To comply with regulations of government bodies such as NEA, SCDF, & SPF to maintain the licence.
Maintain a high level of safety standards and keep up to date with current procedures and practices, including health and safety requirements, through continuing professional development.- To develop risk assessments, trialling and developing practical protocols for curricular and extracurricular activities, including field trips.
Diploma in Science related discipline.- 2 Years experience of working in a relevant discipline within laboratory or similar environment.
2 Years experience of working in an international/local education setting.
- 2 Years working knowledge of relevant laboratory safety policies and procedure.
A team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.- Able to work independently and as a team.
Working knowledge of Mac platform, MS Office and Google Workplace Tool.
- Commitment to the highest standards of child protection and safeguarding.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.- An enquiring mind, with willingness to learn and develop new skills.
